Purpose: To give a strong foundation to students on the relevant subject taught. Develop and deliver instructions to students as per the course guidelines and schedules, and ensure holistic development of the students. Actively participate in diverse areas of responsibility including undertaking research, administering of examinations, counseling students and directing student research. Enable development of student skill sets and guide them to succeed in a competitive environment
•Reference reading for classroom lectures
• Time scheduling for each classroom session
• Preparing classroom material and teaching tools as applicable
• Coordinating instruction with other instructors
• Planning and preparing for assignments and tests
• Review of new textbooks for courses
• Evaluating the learning level of students and fine tune delivery mechanism, within each classroom session
• Relating lecture content to previous lectures to ensure syllabus continuity
• Ensuring classroom decorum in line with university guidelines
• Encouraging class activities that use cooperative learning to increase student retention, to promote student self-esteem, to help students develop skills in oral communication, etc
• Preparing and offering a question bank for the examination to the course coordinator to choose from
• Creating and deploying continuous evaluation mechanism in line with course guidelines
• Timely and unbiased evaluation/marking of student assignments, examinations etc in prescribed formats.
• Identifying research opportunities relevant to field of expertise
• Identifying avenues (conferences / journals) for paper presentation
• Planning activities required to deliver research thesis and seeking research grants (both internal and external)
• Identifying and participating in corporate seminars, if applicable
• Exploring opportunities for industry cooperation
• Completing research work within a determined time frame
• Offering service to the community and the country in the area of expertise
• Organizing seminars, workshops and conferences as needed
• Participating in department / college level planning and scheduling activity
• Training and mentoring of other junior faculty
• Ensuring involvement within various councils / committees
• Ensuring participation in assessment of course objectives / learning outcomes
• Representing the college at official events, as required
