Senior Specialist, IT Applications. - Ma'aden Gold Feb 20th 2013, 07:42 OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Administers, develops and maintain Ma'aden Gold Co. enterprise application software to user requirements and ensures adherence to Ma'aden Gold Co.'s IT strategy. Responsibilities: Application/Software Requirements & Enhancements • Analyses and develops software requirements and enhancements for Oracle ERP application and establishes system specification appropriate to the problems by consulting with management, users, administrative and technical staff. Attends user meetings to ascertain user requirements regarding system modifications. • Coordinates corrections and enhancements to system. Includes bug fixing, customization, design changes (screen, reports etc), and testing of modifications on development machine. Application/Software Specifications • Defines and writes program specifications for approval by Management prior to development work. Estimates cost of systems modifications and prepares cost-benefit analyses, definitions and schedules for management approval. Ensures local system development standards are observed. Application User Support • Receive, investigate and resolve user problems. Report the critical ones to management. Log all related activities in the IT ticketing system. Flow Chart • Prepares flow charts, and mathematical and other models of problems, and produces formalized solutions to systems implementation, system enhancements, bug fixing and customization. Designs screen and reports changes. Technical Reports • Writes programming specifications and prepares technical reports on the operation of systems. Includes identifying and describing control system and procedures such as audit requirements. Test Programs • Tests modified programs on development machine to eliminate errors and to follow up with end users to ensure programs meet user, audit and management requirements prior to migration to application system. Manuals • Develops and maintains software manuals and operation guides, specifying methods of operation and maintenance of systems. IT Trends • Maintains awareness of technology developments and trends relevant to Ma'aden Gold Co.'s business requirements Training • Provides and coordinates enterprise applications training for users as necessary. Vendors • Liaises with software vendor regarding resolution of all support matters and coordination of input from functional users and IT Operations personnel as necessary. Executive Reports • Prepares executive reports for supervisor's review and actions to assist Management's decision making in all aspects of Ma'aden Gold Co.'s application software development.
