About Job::
In this role, the Lead Officer Projects is responsible for monitoring and executing departmental projects under the direction of the relevant Flight Operations Project Manager, the role holder is expected to drive adherence to deadlines and budgets. In addition, the individual will liaise with project stakeholders throughout the duration of the projects and complete all project documentation. The role will involve coordination and leadership of "business" projects, but will be required to closely liaise with IT project managers and other stakeholders to ensure technical project plans aligns with the business project plan.
You will act as a liaison with managers and staff from all section of Flight Operations, Cabin Crew, IT and other internal/external stakeholders Day to day supervision of project tasks. You will ensure management have up-to-date project documentation. Additionally, establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed. You will oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
Additionally, advise management on techniques and assist with change management and business process re-engineering related to the project. You will assess changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans. Identify, track, manage and mitigate risks. Identify and coordinate project dependencies and critical path. Review deliverables before sending to Manager Special Projects Ensure project meets internal and external expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery time and strategy. You will take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise. Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management. Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
About You::
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 5 years experience in an airline operational environment or project coordination role, with a Bachelors Degree. You will have highly developed planning, analytical, and problem solving skills. An understanding of Flight Operations and Network Operations functions. Have proven negotiating and influencing skills. Grasp of commercial impacts and financial/budgetary work. Excellent English communication (written and spoken) and facilitation/presentation skills. Intermediate/advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Project skills. Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage work flow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
